The 27th EU PVSEC in Frankfurt was a true melting-pot with a vibrant exchange of research, industry, finance and politics, with participants from over 100 nations. The exhibition represented a unique shop window to take the pulse of emerging global policies and trends from an industry now employing over 300 000 people in the European Union.

pvsec2012-3Due to the consolidation within the industry and a general recession in Europe, the number of visitors were slightly declining. However, more than 1600 delegates enjoyed a rich conference program for participants from over 100 nations. CTF was pleased to present a paper at the conference, which brought a lot of attention to the latest CdTe research results achieved together with the Fraunhofer Institute FEP in Dresden. During the exhibition, CTF noticed that companies from emerging markets are now slowly replacing the declining European PV market by using the naturally given advantage of a high solar radiation. Especially countries with a lack of power grids and a high number of power shut downs due to capacity overloads are highly interested to invest in Renewable Energies. In all discussions held we noticed that the Cadmiumtelluride-Thinfilm-Technology is well accepted and known as being one of the most competitive worldwide.

pvsec2012-2Therefore CTF SOLAR is very satisfied about the number of specific enquiries and promising business contacts.
